Hi all!

It seems that the condenser was damaged by a little stone flying through the front grille protection. Have you experienced a similar problem and tried to put an extra protection, like glueing a metal grille behind this plastic one, or to install an optional equipment? If so could you tell me how it worked, the specifications and price?

i wouldnt want to restrict the air flow to the rad, cooling on a diesel needs to be good you dont want to cook the head or you will be in real trouble

If it was indeed a stone going in through the grille that damaged the condenser after managing to avoid the grille, condenser fans and support structure and hitting a vital spot. Buy a lottery ticket, you have more chance of winning that than of it happening again.

Well, I will give a try to the lottery, then!! :) Seriously, I was thinking to glue a plastic protection, the kind of which I am using for trees, it is black soft and very resistant, with alveoles. Water, mud, etc does not get through.

You mean Terram forget it, ridiculous idea. Airflow is king reduce it and you will get all kinds of problems. A new cylinder head is a lot more expensive than a condenser.

I put stainless steel mesh behind the front grill on my disco2 . i think it came from halfords, my son bought it to use I used what was left, It does not affect the air flow , stops any rubbish passing through.
