Sure, I may own a LR 110, but at the moment, I'm spending more time looking for some decent lanes to take my 1998 V70XC down. It can do a hell load more than people think.

Anyone know of any lanes (moderate to easy) within 30-60 mins of Hitchin? - thats near Luton by the way.

The M1? Its moderate to easy dependin on wot time of day you get on it..

Or alternatively ave a look on here fer the T*O*S*S*E*R's. We're all relatively close to you. Daft even bought his slitty along once! And it din't get stuck and the doors din't fall off when it got wet like them Gaylander ones do.

Strange how its only his landies that get stuck and bits fall off in it:D

I am unable to comment on this subject cos I ave had frets made that if I do make comments about certain peoples being stuck Photos of me in compromising positions may be posted on the web in the event that one day I myself gets stuck.;)

****loads! Jeez it would be fun to see you out with us! We're only in Luton! A volvo you say.... hmmm with all this sunny weather I guess you could use half the routes we usully get stuck in. There's this one in ashwell...

Did that years ago when the only volvos were 140's. Thought then, like I often do now, who needs a landrover then? Of course as time goes by I find myself asking that question too frequently!

I'm in Luton, go out laning most weekends. Come along. I pull Ryder out of the mire, might as well pull a Volvo out too. Most around here aren't too tough anyway.

Would be great to try it on some new lanes. We did take it down a lane near Ashwell, was pretty flat with a few bumps really haha. Was a bit of mud in the middle though. Would also be interesting to see a Pajero off roading.

Next time I may be out will be next wednesday.

Specs of the Volvo to let you know what it's capable of:

165mm ground clearance
Viscous coupling center diff
limited slip rear diff
traction control mainly on the front wheels
plenty of power
auto :( (though there is 1st gear lock, and peak torque at 1500rpm)

Only problem with it is that there is no underbody protection, and we've already hit the radiator at Devils Pit (fixed now of course).

we're out this weekend, I know you say Wednesday.... but if you're not busy on Saturday we could do a few. Spyderman and myself have a few in mind.

Also doing a single one on Friday evening if you're up for it?

Taking the Paj to the lane i love tut tut! If the hole is still there you better ring me when you need a winch! spyderman do you remember it wasnt all that bad and we ended up there for 2 hours dragging through 5 vehicles, i remember running backwards and forwards sweating my tits off should be drier this time though! Good luck!

International Spud rescue will be on call tonight Jai

Spyderman/Ryder - regarding the lanes you're going to on saturday:

They're legal right, because I try to stick to the legal lanes, though I let my son drive, so I'm a little hypercritical haha.

If so, then I may be able to come with you two. I look forward to your reply.

Tsk Tsk. A green lane has the same legal status and requirements as an A-road or the street you live in. and the driver must be aged 17 or over, Insured to drive the vehicle and either possess a full uk driving licence or be a provisional licence holder displaying L Plates & accompanied by a full licence holder who is qualified to supervise them.

cant believe you took that to the devils pit!Still done alright by the looks of things?!

OK slight change of plan. Did Jai's favourite lane this evening, got through on road tyres! Must be much easier this time Jai. Got stuck once but managed to drive out, I must be learning quicker!

Spyderman's Landy is still havin gproblems and the priority is sorting that out on the morrow, but we're hoping to be out Sunday instead. Looking at Santa Pod, Grafham Water area.

If you'd like to join us then you have my phone number, I pm'd it to you yesterday.

Oh and By the way... we only ever drive completely legal BOATS or Highways. I take my whole family, kids, baby... all of em so we're very careful to behave in a responsible manner. My son does drive, but only at pay and play areas, he is not allowed to drive on ROW. God forbid but if he should hit something or someone the implications are honestly life changing!
