where abouts in south wales are you? plenty of lanes, your in one of the best places for it. get an OS map of your area and scout out the BOATS (byways open to all traffic) most of these routes are still open/relivent considering the ever changing laws

There is a nice run down by Abersoch pwelli. Its called the Lost Village. Its an old mining colony/quarry by gunners hill left over from the first and second world war. There are several routes around the quarry from the summit overlooking the bay to the waters edge on the shingle promenade. You can find it on the ordanace survey map for that area. W.H.Smith are good for them.john.

Can we have some sort of rule that if your gonna recommend a route to people especially newbies. that you tell them whether the route is legal or not? Or better still keep em to yourself. Otherwise some poor sod is gonna listen to you and end up getting their landy impounded. There is, an handful of very short legal lanes on the Llyn Penninsular but they are so short and so widely spaced it's not really worth the bother. Unless your in that area and bored. The quarries your on about are private property and driving in them is illegal.
