Im in kings heath. within driving distance of all these places. We need more knowledge of the lanes in the midlands. If we get a nice little crew together we could check out a few of the local lanes some time?

Got a few day routes for around the Midlands, happily take a small group out for a day...

Sounds good mate! Look forward to gettin more off roading done

What are you after, easyish beginner stuff for shinies or more interesting muddy / rocky stuff which may (though is unlikely) cause damage if something goes wrong?

too start would be good for some beginner stuff and abit of mud and after two or three outings could push abit harder lol

Yeah that sounds advisable. With respect to damage and stuff... cosmetic damage doesnt mean that much to me, there isnt alot a hammer and a lick of paint cant fix in that respect. Functional damage is preferentially avoided. Iv taken my disco offroad at stoneleigh and recently abingdon. With regards to abingdon, there wasnt anything on their course that could really give any cause for concern. Aside from getting stuck in the mud run once.

On the whole, days out with locals, doing local green lanes, easy or tough is a win all round

Really sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you, lost internet at home and have been trying to arrange my rather hectic diary. To give time for organisation and because it's my first free weekend i could do a trip on the 6th or 7th November - group size would be up to 6 people unless someone else is happy to lead a group in which case we can split into two groups and take 12.

I'll have a look at routes over the next few days and see where looks best for us.

Does that sound like a vague plan?

it does sound quite good i reckon i could get about 3 maybe 4 cars together depending on my mates truck lol.

what sort of area are we looking at?

Is Nottingham / S. Yorkshire a bit too much of a treck? No problem if it is, just a nice route up that way :)

Could do some of the classics around the Peaks or I may have one around Leicestershire i'll double check.

The one down south of Warick is a bit too easy and you'd probably get bored on it (i'd drive it all in my standard disco)

where is the one south of warwick

T'is in Northamptonshire starting at a village called Helmdon and ends in a village called Priors Marston...

If you want something easy then it will be a good one to start on i guess, there is one fun water bit in it, basically a lane about 50m long which is a few foot deep in water :) not door height, but high enough to be fun!

I'd like to be included also if that's o.k. I am based in Nuneaton.

Ahh, i drive to Nuneaton rather frequently, i'm just along the A444 from you!

No problem as far as i'm concerned for you to come along, as long as the group size is 6 or less. Depends how many people Savage has lined up really...

Cool, ok lets get this looking right then:

Mike
Savage +2
FunkyKipper (please confirm)

Going to Northamptonshire for a days green laning

Which day would you prefer? 6th or 7th of November?

Anyone else?

Yes I am in. Sunday is always easier for me but I am flexible for either.
