It was a pretty good day really Rusty. I have never had to bump start a V8 so much in my life. What new car have you got?

Nick, we go out a lot less regularly than we would like to. We always welcome newcomers. Keep checking the thread as LR110 or Munka will usually put up an announcement for a laning day. What landy have you got?

Rusty,
Nice motor. I think it could be improved by adding a nato hitch, roof rack and a spare wheel on the bonnet though. Just a thought. Oh I assume looking at the complexity of the engine it must be a TD5 :D

Hehe :)

Its funny you say that...I do have a similar plan but not for this GT4, this one is too pretty :)

i wont be laning for a little while, i need to find a lt95 gearbox!

alls good here not seen any 90s for sale i think you will have to search ebay harder

A question, if I may... i'm very local to Sawtry and I know there's quite a few lanes around here!

I have an ordnance survey map, but I realise this is not enough to go laning. I have tried to get in contact with the local GLASS rep and not heard back, and the council are utterly useless at putting me through to someone in the know or giving me an answer to anything.

So... what do you guys do to do this "properly"??

best way to green lane is look them up on os map then take a drive down them. the ones closest to Sawtry are very tame. go with a friend in case you get stuck.

what have you tried already?

All I've tried so far is a few Pay n play days, a lane near Cambridge and my first ever lane turned out to be a farm track - that was before I learned about how green laning was supposed to happen! That was a couple of years ago now anyway...

Always wanted to go laning again because you do get bored of the Pay n play sites eventually. Only trouble is expense - I always manage to break something and I need to get to work in the same vehicle the day after! lol

well fishy you need to know how to read a os map, plan your routes and have someone who has access to the glass web site to see if the lanes are open, one thing you could do is wait until my landy is fixed and join me, but i have idea how long that will take, as this is weather permitting

well, i have a couple of OS maps in the car anyway, plus "iOSMaps" and "MemoryMap Free" on my iPhone. Not sure i've bought the Sawtry area of the maps yet in MemoryMap, but the option is there.

Does one need to pay to access the GLASS web site? If not, I could just get on there hopefully.

I'm happy to wait until your Landy is fixed - not been laning or off roading for nearly a year (except going down a lane in Cambridge once or twice in the last 2 months), so not desperate! If it takes months that's fine, if it takes 3 years that's fine!

We'll see how it all pans out...

Fantastic!

Well I have a mud terrains, 12,000lb winch, ropes, hitching points front and back etc... so we should get on just fine! :D
