what areas you looking at try church streton area there is enough for a good weekend around there if you head towards strata you can take thhat in a well done it many times
There are quite a few still down there - gone have the days when you could drive from neath to newtown and only take in a handful (literally) of miles on tarmac....
You can still easily do full weekends laning without much more than OS map...but it is a pain when you get to a lane and it's closed.
Not all the good (drive-able and legal) 'green lanes' are BOATs (Byways) but denoted on the OS maps as roads......sometimes you have to spend a weekend or 2 investigating to come up with a route/s
Hope you've got a snorkel cos if all that snow and ice that was up there on the 27th has melted the river will be about 3 foot deep!
One other thing, I think this is the best lane in Wales and there is talk of it getting closed for good because of idiots driving where they shouldn't,up river and on farmland, and it's getting ruined. so please please please stick to the lane,if the water is too deep(there's a lot of it) don't try to go round it,turn round and do it another day.
Ok rant over, don't forget your sarnies and flask it's a long lane!
Just for you to get an idea of how deep the river can get this pic is on a good day
Same bit of river and this is probably how it will be now after all the wet weather
