Hi Folks, anyone know of any green lanes suitable for newish off roader, have TD5 disco but has tow bar and running boards so wherever i go needs to be fairly mild. I know of Avon Dasset quarry which is a fab off road course etc but too much for me pride and joy, it would also scare me kids, who want me to go off roading. any ideas would help.

Cheers

Hey Mate,
Unfortunatly no idea of green lanes around Cov, but i'm only down the road In Bedworth and am in the same boat, or TD5 i should say ! if you find any mate will you let me know? and likewise i'll give you a shout !

Cheers Rob.

i wouldn't mind doing a few green lanes with yus if you find any,i've heard theres loads around this area(out along the A444/A5 area)just gotta find them though.i'm in bedworth myself

Thanks for the input so far, small world I work in Bedworth, live in Cov. I do no a fantastic 4/5 mile green lane in wales, just out side Rahyadar. Went on team build there with work and drove two defenders up it taking turns and doing tasks as part of our team day, locals actually prefer 4x4's using it as they stay on the hill road/track, more recently off road bikes have took over and have destroyed the open land with there own tracks etc. Its a fab root with fantastic views.Heres the link on google maps, the gate to the enterance is opp a farm with the single house the first thing you pass when on the track, never followed it all the way but it joins the main road at the end

Best bet for you guys is to find a club that do "shiny" weekends. If you want to pm me I can give you details of a club I'm in or look for a local club.

Hello Guys,

My name is Greg and I'm a photographer based in Coventry and I love land rovers - and other 4x4 vehicles and would love to have the opportunity to take photographs of them going round tracks.

Does anyone know of any tracks in and around Coventry I could go to and take photographs of Land rovers going round the tracks and getting pretty muddy?

gregory_sassano@hotmail.co.uk - please reply to my personal address.

Well Im sorry to say i sold me TD5 back in June but read landyzone daily just in case I can share my experiences/problems with current landy owners.Own a 3lt A6 Allroad for my sins, makes me smile in a different way.

I used go viewing at future 4x4, at Avon dasset, what a site that is, you can view for free and you will defo get your pics, check there site out.

Good luck!!

Greg,

if you want to take photos of Land Rovers doing their stuff, check out the calendar for Midland Rovers Owners Club The Midland Rover Owners Club (MROC). They organise RTV & CCTV trials every month at different venues around the midlands - mostly south of Birmingham - including Avon Dassett (I take part in a Disco 2 TD5).

Big Matt,

MROC also do occasional "Tyro" events which are for Land Rovers that people want to keep absolutely undamaged, but want to explore what they can do.
I think the next 1 is at Eastnor Castle - which is an absolutely fantastic place to go round with any Land Rover.
The events cost around £20 & are usually a great laugh for a few hours fun (families welcome !)
See the website for more info or contact me if you're interested (I'm not 1 of the organisers - but can put you in contact with them)
