It is in the area I know, hook, odiham, mapledurwell, Hartley wintney. But there are only a few. If anyone knows of any that aren't on there let us know :)

Hey guys I found a map of all the green lanes in Hampshire Hampshire Rights of Way Online
Some of you may have already seen it, but I thought it may come in handy instead of getting out a huge map :)
Local knowledge is always a good supplement to maps such as these. Most local authorities (well some anyway) have tried to put their definitive maps online, but often they don't indicate if the lanes are blocked, or should simply be left alone because of overuse. Trailwise may help, but a lot of the data on there is very out of date.

Opening back an old thread. I live in netley abbey just outside southampton. Anyone know of any green laning down this neck of the woods? I'm new so an easy route would be good for a beginner! When searching the closest ones seem to be in Petersfield. Anything closer would be better.

I'm local to netley abbey! I have looked our side of the water and there doesn't seem any near there, Salisbury plain looks the best bet really!!!

For an easy lane that you could do by yourself if necessary, go to the race course at Salisbury where you can pick up a byway heading west. It runs parallel with the A30 and almost reaches Shaftsbury.
If you're with another vehicle, do the return journey using the Ox drove.

Or for one a bit closer. Go up the A36 towards Salibury, then at Pepperbox hill turn right onto the byway. I haven't done that one lately so I would advise two vehicles.

Great stuff.yes I will up for that for sure! I see a few landys here in netley. I live just opposite the coop. I am completley new to off roading so someone to show me the ropes would be great.

I went to hook today about 10mins. And found some easy routes. And yes next time definatly won't go on my own as I was worried a few times!

I know where that is!! I go to viccy park with boys all the time, away at the moment though! Follow this thread I'll be in touch!

Ox drove is an awesome lane. Some very deep water in places.

Often driven it on my own. But wouldn't advise it with a standardish truck.

One of the big puddles.

Sounds good. I'll have a look closer at that site for sure and hopefully join you!

Holy thread revival, Batman! I’ve bought myself a Defender 90 TD5 (finally!!!) so will hop on the newbie-in-Hants bandwagon. Any suitable green landing days on the horizon?

I'm just posing an important philosophical question...

If a map shows a legal byway and there's a real life metal gate across it, am I legally allowed to go around the real life metal gate?

Hypothetically speaking of course.

Just because it's a legal byway doesn't mean you can legally drive it.
So, no you can't just go round the metal gate.
