WIGH I HAD THAT SORT OF MONEY! wonder if he'd take instalments? :smokin:

I think its worth every penny, but yeh, would be nice to have that sort of money to spend on a 'toy'. I can't see it depreciating at all either. It was bought by a car dealer down here in Christchurch - and I asked him what his plans are for it on this similarly interesting car...

getting it back from new Zealand could be fun, fly out drive and ferry home, wonder how long it would take

There are Expedition Landies that come up for sale quite regularly over here that were driven down by their European owners. My own SIII was assembled in Aussie and the original records show it as sold to Venezuela, but somehow managed to end up in New Zealand.

Wow, another one. This looks a right peach of a buy for someone. Great restorable condition. Bulkhead aside, not far off road worthy by the looks.

$2,200 start/reserve price = about £1K! I'm sure it will go for much much more than that - I recon about $15K but wouldn't be surprised if it goes for quite a bit more.

It does seem cheap that one. Whether a car is 'registered' has a big impact on its value. If its not registered it needs to go through 'compliance' to get a number plate - this is stricter than a normal WOF (MOT) and can be tricky - but mainly people are just scared off from having to do it. If the car isn't being used on the road you can put the registration 'on hold' which means you don't have to pay the license. You renew the on hold status annually until you put the car back on the road then pay your normal license. A lot of people can't be bothered (these motors weren't worth anything a few years back!) or forget to do it though.

That Dormobile has its registration on hold so it is legal - just sort the bulk head out and any other problems, take it for a WOF and you're away on your adventures :)

Looks like you're going to have an action packed holiday and need lots of containers.

This one's just been listed for the same money. Period LR engine, 7 seater SWB station wagon and legal - still registered. Lovely looking old girl...

The Series one station wagon would probably fetch £6-8,000 in Britain , as they are indeed rare and sought after.
