I don't understand. If your bothered about fuel consumption why get the vehicle in the fost place, if it had only done 25 MPG would you have got rid or left it in the drive and used yer pushbike?

So is 30mpg good for a 2.5 n/a ?

When i had a TD in my 110 i didnt dare work out the mpg, but now that i have a 200 tdi in it i sorta wished i had, if only just as a comparison.

well I get about 12 to the gallon out of my 200 TDi and I'm happy too, because most of that is off road and in low box.

MPG is important at my age cos I need to spend my money on expensive gadgets too! I wouldnt've got rid of it if it was doing less, but I would have done if I'd only been getting 17/18 mpg, thats the kinda stuff I'd expect from a big beafed up V8. It was getting between 23-25 (which I was expecting to get) recently, but that was with a nackered piston, which has just recently been replaced.

I'm saying I'm happy anyways, so cheer up!

fook me save yer money fer some maths lessons sonny,

"I wouldnt've got rid of it if it was doing less, but I would have done if I'd only been getting 17/18 mpg"
when i wur at skool 17 or 18 was less than 30 and as far as i know it still is

I meant to say I wouldn't have got rid of it if it was doing a little bit less!

Slob said ...when i wur at skool 17 or 18 was less than 30 and as far as i know it still is.

Well Slob, what with the common market and metrication, maybe they changed that ....?

Hi Pos,

Last tankful of diesel in my 200tdi gave 35mpg, but a couple of trips to the Lake District means it was mostly motorway work.

Just switched to 50/50 veg oil/ diesel 30ltr = £22.44 = 74.8p per litre.

I'm currently keeping a log of diesel and veg quantities i'm using and the number of miles being driven. Been at it for about a week and I'm gonna log it for about a month. Then I'll do the maths.

knowing what your fuel consumption is is important. Thats why Eddie Stobart's always complaining when diesel goes up by 0.01p. It's important to him and his millions just like its important to Pos and his student loan.....both will be jumping for joy at an extra 5 mpg.

Ah think thats the point. It doesn't matter how many mpg you get, if you can't afford to run it, you can't afford to run it. But it is important to understand how much you use. even if its thinkin, fook!, that ran oot quick.

I must admin I was taken aback at the way land rovers drink fuel. I've now got the price down using veg oil to the point where I'm spending the same on fuel as I was for the 1.8 clio RSI.

Remember, I work in I.T. I wallow all day long in data and statistics. Tedious **** that I am.....

fook! get yerself a maserati, driven how its meant to be driven and you get single figure mpg, which would be good fer yerself as you would wear out less keys on yer calkeymalator

My V8 90 used to do about 26 on a long run, but barely made low teens around town - alright, it did sound horny with a straight through exhaust and a single TD5 back box and so had to be driven with a digital throttle ;)

200 TDi is averaging about 30mpg, which isn't bad really.

I worked wi BMW and used to get the new M5 to do 4mpg!
What a hoot though when trees look at funny angles and you cant get your head off the head rest

Superb, BMW's, Mazerati's, I can aford neither. Land rover 90, 55 -60 mph, approx 27 mpg.

I've been thinking about digital throttles, I was thinking what would have a digital throttle.

A space shuttle?

MPG who knows?
