Just received an email from the Billing gang wishing me a merry Christmas so in response i spent £148 and ordered three tours on the off road courses. Riverside on Friday and then the Lakeside course on Saturday and Sunday plus camping for Friday and Saturday. This'll be my first time going off road in a 101!
I'm pretty sure i'll have sorted out the brakes by then 😁

Go for it and why not. I'd love a 101. With a 3.0d in it and why not.😎👍

If you check out his channel on youtube he's taken it to Santa Pod!

I don't know whether it's a standard tune or he's messed with it.
Then again, depending on which car it was taken from, it could be from 181 to 282 bhp.
295 to 428 lb/ft!

His second run was in the 17s...

Why to people like to test rev limiters? It's not big and it's not clever
I agree. Not big, not clever and can be bloody expensive!
In his case it's more a case of standard low gearing. I watched his Santa Pod video and he complained about running out of revs down the strip. In a more recent video he's got another gear set.
Personally i've always found out where peak torque is and changed up there.

If you're running out of revs then you're not ready for Santa pod
He was a drag racin' virgin'.
If you don't run wot ya brung you don't find out.
Personally i would have thought the last place to take your 2B FC would be to a drag strip, but then i don't often think outside of the box 😁

Sadly i'm now wondering if a 101 ambulance has ever been seen at the Pod...

True, but you go and watch first.. then see what other folks do.. don't just turn up with blind luck.. Just a waste of money

Though i suppose some folks will just see it as a right laugh.. like the folks who go to track days with the attitude.. You're not having fun if you don't crash

My experience with motorsport is ask a lot of questions, spend some money, then do it, learn a lot more and spend even more money. Have fun and then decide how much more you want to spend to be more competitive...
Given my experience is with hill climbing and circuit racing i was shocked at the lack of safety involved. Even being allowed to race in shorts!

Peeps know how fast their vehicle accelerates by driving it. Yer dun't need to go to a drag strip to find out. Unless yer fink yer going to win.

Some people are VERY optimistic...

The more i think about it the more i'm liking me running the 101 down the strip! I'm not optimistic, just not shy
