I do mine after every laning trip, or before a long journey, so every couple of months max, usually 4-6 weeks, possibly overkill, but hey.

I work on after laning, it will push out any muck/grit/water thats got in there, and every long trip so i know its ok.

a big tub o grease is about £6 and lasts ages. dont buy a cheap gun though, I binned 3 cos they were crap, ened up buying a second hand Wammer from ebay.

That is the way to do it.......... Why do you think construction and farming equipment were greased daily ;)

I'm still using my father's Tecalemit side lever high pressure grease gun.
He'd had it for years before he passed it on to me, and that was way back in the 60s. All I've had to do to it was fit a flexible hose.

Erm i usually take props off to grease as heard thats the best way to make sure they all get done proper
but its literally the case off pushing the end onto the nipple and sqeezing the gun ,
changing them is easy need a long socket thing its 8mm or 10mm cant remember lefty loosy new one then righty tighty lol

9/16" is actually the correct size :)
jumping under with a grease gun is a 5 min job, removing/replacing the props makes it at least 1/2 hr, more likly an hour, and my drum nuts area pia to do up/undo, might weld em on next time I remove it.

I was thinking off welding them aswell! Pain in the arse and doing half a turn at a time is a right pain !

Hmmm ill have to do it next time

9/16" for a nipple
welding yer bolts on will only cause you an issue later, when you shag the thread on the bolt and cant get a new nut on ;)

get a cranked ring key, tis easier.
or one o them prop bolt spanner things from paddocks, tho I find the ring key just as easy.

We've got 1 at work that we've ground flat on 2 sides that fit in the yokes fine
:D
as i`ve got a few grease guns, thats what I done too.
works just fine,
but was too late to save the last U/J on rear prop.
new one gets lots of grease along with other 5 nipples !

Extended nipple...
