So I've been having a look at different kinds of grease and am now confused.

Moly greases for high impact slow moving stuff like CV joints and UJs?

Lithium grease for high speed bearings?

General purpose grease for...other stuff?

To be honest finding mixed evidence with people saying the total opposite to the above.

Normally best to use what the manufacturer recommends, unless its a landy when they change specs after a few years:confused:

On a series it's Castrol LM for just about everything! I don't think I own any other sort of grease.

grease has improved like oil over the years but the stuff they used in the 50s was more than adequate serviced frequently is more important, you can put the dearest stuff in but it wont be any better

I just have a big tin of Commer grease, think it is called lm, not sure. I use it in everything that needs grease. Havent had any problems

Oh really, so in wheel bearings and CV joints?

That would save me some cash

I use it in bearings, ujs, tres, grease nipples and pins on the front loader, everything except fasteners, where I use copper slip.

And leaf springs etc, where I would use graphite grease.

I don't have to do with CV joints, so cant really say about them.
