Hi, have a GPS Antenna Error showing on my Becker Traffic Pro (factory fit). As part of the headlining project I was hoping to simply reconnect / clean a terminal on the antenna and then get everything working. However, the connection (GT5) to the antenna at the rear seems fine, and has had a squirt of contact cleaner, but still no operation. I've also checked the connection to the head unit (WiCliC) and that seems fine too. So by process of deduction, I need a replacement GPS antenna. Unsurprisingly these are not available as an original part (Aerial Antenna XUI000070) or pattern.
Was wondering if anyone had found a suitable externally mounted alternative with a GT5 push-fit connection? I'd like to avoid butchering the loom, so if I can make the original connection work at the roof then perfect. Failing that, I'll have to run a new antenna with a connection all the way back to the WiClic connection at the back of the head unit.
I know there will be lots of "why not just replace the head unit / get a tom-tom" etc, but its more about having the original unit working and not showing an error message.
I'm also playing with a 3.5mm input jack adaption for music for the same head unit, so fee a little financial and emotionally invested in this!
Any support / ideas / hyperlinks would, as ever, be appreciated!
