Wet grass is a tricky one going up or down, I slid down a slope in wales sideways in my Defender TD5 a couple of years ago, a change of underwear moment.

Wammers described it best, momentum is the key, not too low a gear, and a speed that you can tell will carry you to the top without spinning any tyres.

I would definitely scrub the the new tyres a bit on some gravely road as new tyres on wet grass is always going to be tough going.
 
Ian, when on the motorway, try weaving from side to side and braking sharply, like the F1 drivers on a warm up lap, pretty much like my wife's normal day to day driving:eek:
 
But in all seriousness , a bit of on road driving will scrub the newness off the tyres nicely, but be aware that wet grass slopes are best driven using momentum, the moment you stop, no amount of knobbly tyres is going to get you going up again, best thing is to reverse back down and use enough welly to get you up, but not so much as to damage anything on the car.

Nasty ding on the rear wing there, Stu. Low in 3 is a very versatile gear off road. Should have seen the slope I went up in Derbyshire. Of course, that was snow on grass.
 
That nasty ding has been there since the 2nd day my father in law baught her nearly 3 year ago had a quote from a garage of near 1000 quid to sort. For that money the ding can stay for now just going to spray a bit of red over. Its enivitable il dink it off road. I just find low 3 is slightly nicer and not so rough as just leaving it in high 1. 90degre bend and horse fencing about and gates slipping and sliding lol
 
Hi guys me again
I've just got my car back on the road after I have changed the heater matrix o rings and blend motors

I went to see my bees and I got bloody stuck again.
The ground was level but it was a grass field and a little bogie but not much

I got half way through the gate and the front wheels got stuck in and keeped spinning. The clicking noise was there but I didn't notice the TC light going on and off. I reversed out the field very pist off.

Is there anything wrong with the 4 wheel drive does anyone think?
 
I dunno, but I can imagine you are well hacked off.
I'm investing in some off-road tyres for mine - hopefully that's the way...
 
I wouldn't mind but I have got off road tires on there.

I have some new goodridge tires but I have warn them in since I last got stuck
