I have purchased a landy at last! Found it in autotrader, met up with the owner who turned out to be someone I knew for college four years ago!

Its a P reg 90 tdi hard top with 59081 on the clock, FSH and I'm now the 4th owner. The first was the National Trust on Bodmin. Came with the modular wheels, quite new BFG mud-terrains and a brand new winch bumper. He threw in the winch but its not fitted yet. other extras are the chequear plating, snorkel and steering assembly guard.
Well chuffed!!

Two questions I do have are
1: How often should it be serviced? The handbook seemed to say every 6000 miles. can this be right?
2:The cambelt was changed sept 2002 at 38500 miles (20000 something miles age) . When should it be changed again?

many thanks
phil

LR officially state that cambelt should be changed every 60k miles. but 40k is much much better.
make doubly sure the belt actually has been changed.

being a student that would be a fair few months wages!!
I think i will get it done.
any idea about the servicing?

Yes I would change the oil every 6000miles at least, I do about 5000, other things you can sort of pick and choose, all lubricants and oils should be in good order at all times though.

Also check it's either had or doesn't need the pulley modification - tell tale signs are fraying at the belt edges.
