I need some rot putting right on my chassis, but I dont want a sheet of metal tacked on then beaten with a hammer so it bends and covers the rot then welded to the chassis, I need the rear half of the middle rails bottom repairing by cutting out the bottom of the rail and welding a new section in there, anybody know a good fabricator in Suffolk who can do this?

Without wishing to sound like wolf... whereabouts in Suffolk is Arse?

Not too worried about trustworthy, more worried about them being able to fabricate and weld in a new section to my chassis.
blackstrat are you able to do this?

flatlander who is Peter Norfolk?

Have a google for fabrication firms in your area as must be several general engineering ones about , and most will be far better than most garages .

He runs a garage under that name in Acton. Knows his Landys and can weld. There is also Demand Engineering 01473 890820, bloody good although they work mainly in stainless.

I have a garage local to me who restores Triumph cars so I've dropped them an EMail so with a bit of luck they might be able to help.
There is Roach Jaguar down your way who seem like they might be able to do it, I have a feeling though a restoration place might be a tad costly , but you never know.

By trustworthy, I didn't mean that you could trust him not to pinch the small change under the seat (although he wouldn't do that either), but that you could trust him to do a good job:doh:
That's all right, don't mention it.

Glencoyne engineering, Richard who owns the buisiness specilises in land rovers, he does alsorts of repairs on bulkheads to chassis, and he cuts the rot out for his repairs.

he is located in Thetford, he does have a website Untitled

Wicken 4WD will do an awesome job of it but I thought you wanted a bloke with a welder to do it cheaply..

There is no such thing as cheap if you want something done properly, it would be nice though.

Buddy of mine Ronnie Court is just the other side of Ipswich from you. (I'm near stowmarket).

He's not in the trade anymore but is very experienced and good at what he does. Still does a lot of work on the side for various people including myself.

OK I will come out of retirement just for you £250+ vat for a quote, you must be specific about what you want though, might have to bring trapper across for a second opinion:high5:

Evergreen garage near Stonham Aspall will do a great job also a guy called Phil in the same area looks after my landy and my old mans. Both have done excellent work for me in the past.

If either of those options is useful to you I can send you details
