I've found a discovery 300tdi complete engine to put in my defender 110 the guy wants £550 quid is that reasonable it's got 75000 miles on it and I can see it running before he takes it out very tempted

Couldn't you get a rust bucket for that and have the gearbox, diffs etc to sell to get a bit of dosh back?

I would say thats high, you can get a 110K motor for sub £300, a 75K motor is only worth £400 tops, as has been said if you got the room buy a rotter and remove the engine, sell the rest and you could make some money...

Just sold a D1 with no t or t and a long failure sheet from the MOT...done 190k...£560.

I've just spoke to the bloke again and asked if the gearbox transfer box was included he said not and gearbox was extra £150 after the advice I'm getting here hes got no chance

v. expensive.

I sold my g/b for £50 and the t/b for £50.

I think the engine went for £300 + postage complete with all bits bolted on.
