I'm so confused 😅

I looked at Richards chassis, they sell an na / td / 200tdi chassis, and the defender 200tdi and disco 200tdi use the same block.

So is the 4 inches difference just down to the bell housing and flywheel housing? So if I ensure my flywheel and bell housing are defender, I should be golden?
The Disco bellhousing is longer by about 4 inches to shove the engine further forward in the Disco chassis thus leaving gearbox mountings and propshafts the same

I would think it unlikely that you have a Disco LT-77, you would have to alter the gear stick positions in the cab and likely the transmission tunnel.

Why are you labouring the point they have anything Disco on the vehicle. The op hasn't suggested so.

I think you're Option 2 is the best path really - I wouldn't want to buy a galvanised V8 chassis then chop the mounts off.

Are the core differences in the chassis the mounting points for engine and gearbox, there's not anything else different?
Best to check with Richards chassis or whoever you intend to buy from. They will be able to confirm any other chassis differences. But overall I'd say yes, it is just these things.

As for Option 2. You really do need to know what engine/gearbox you have. Else you run the same risk of needing to modify the chassis if your installation isn't as per a factory 200Tdi.

There really are a lot of ways a 200Tdi could be fitted into an older Ninety/One Ten. The fact yours was a V8 and not a 2.5TD means your gearbox was different too. So sadly there is no way to give certain advice, until you are sure what your vehicle is running.

The LT-85 has a much longer throw than an LT-77. But this is only useful if you are used to other LT-77s or LT-85's.

Looking at the disco box and the engine mount tip can be used in other situations
Also disco 200 fitted

Thanks everyone, I'll get the serial numbers off the gearbox and see if that confirms what I have.

I think I've got a defender lt77 and bellhousing and disco 200tdi with disco flywheel, but I'll confirm 👍🏻
