Was just thinking how boring being in a Japanese 4x4 forum would be. What would the posts read?......
Went out in my4x4 today and nothing broke
Another year of driving...still reliable lol
Got stuck again had to get my mate with his landy to pull me out

They do break, it's just that when they do it's something big and expensive.

At least with a land rover it's usually little and often :)

On this forum we refer to a Japanese 4x4 as a slitty. What to do think they refer to Land Rovers as on a Japanese 4x4 forum (4x4xforum!:D)? A Britty?

I used to be on a japanese forum.they do break a fair bit but keep it quiet. they also talk about how i had to rescue a land rover today.never any pics though.

i used to belong to a forum for toyota hilux surfs, the forum is full of stories of overheating issues and cracked cylinder heads, I had the over heating problem myself on my 1994 3 litre diesel auto I tried everything but it still overheated when towing, so I sold it for 4000nzd, paid 2500nzd for a 1996 300 TDI, and am really pleased with it the best thing being cheap parts from paddocks etc.

Toyota quoted me 1500 nzd for an alternator 4000 for a radiator....750 nzd for a viscous fan, the head was only 1500nzd though, mainly cos everyone was buying chinese ones.....which were better than toyotas..basically the surf waas under cooled which is pretty bad when selling them into aussie etc

having said that the local landrover dealership quoted me 120nzd for track rod ends and i got them from paddocks for 10% of that......

also it's very hard to DIY as you dont have access to such comprehensive help as our RAVE with all in it

Or indeed Fery and Urban Panzer (although I understand he's considering going over to the dark side - I suppose when you've fixed everything there is to fix it gets boring.........

I think its fair to say that Urban Panzers D2 is probably one of the best examples in the world !!.
I know thats a bold statement, but when you consider how its been maintained and all the top notch gear on it, and not mention the galvanised chassis.
