When the M4 was being built, Hoveringham were delivering Ready Mix in 8 wheel trucks running on the completed but not open sections of the road, the drivers were I believe paid per load..

Worked for the company in the early 'seventies based at Rainham Essex. They had moved on to leased Albion & Leyland 6x4's by then, but were still paying drivers on a productivity/mileage basis.
