what does this offer that is not offered by my sub £29 one that does all that listed plus allows me to stop the engine (hard or soft stop) listen in on the thieves, has shock sensor and connected to 2 112db piezo sirens in plated sealed boxes, connects to an app or via phone call / text .. oh and runs with an additional hidden 12 volt leisure battery so if main is cut the sealed in leisure will run it for a month??

cheers steve

and the advert is very misleading.... can the gps tracker be blocked..... blah blah not easily cos it transmits on several frequencies... the unit may transmit on several frequencies but gps signal is one frequency for a non encrypted receiver... it costs pennies to block a gps signal leaving gsm only.. the advert is carefully worded to sound as though GPS cant be blocked easily... totally incorrect

also be aware this seems to use a server and states the position is often 5 minutes out of date???? what use is that when the thieves are doing 60?? the cheap as chips ones use a sim and provide an instant google interactive text to get a real time position not one 5 minutes out of date.... and why log onto an app and go into settings to check battery or wait for an email?? the cheapo's send a full instant text if the power is interupted warning you the second it happens?? I fail to see why you would fork out this much to find out where your vehicle was?? Unless Im missing something very obvious??

Cheers Steve

I want something that tracks vehicle from moving and sends alerts. This looks good to me but im trying to get a deal. All info on pinpointpal and after initial outlay 2 years free subscription then 25 a year afer. Is the 29 per month.

Could you share the details of your equipment and set up?

without giving away too much the additional shock sensor is around £3.50, piezo sirens a couple of quid

my unit lives inside a welded box installed when the vehicle was completely stripped to a chassis, would need a major strip and work to find / remove

power is by an auxilary fire alarm sealed battery so cut the main battery leads all you like still runs for upward of 30 days... piezo sirens are securely mounted in two inaccesible locations so even if one was ripped out there is an equally hard one to get to still going off

if the vehicle battery gets low I get a text immediately

if it gets knocked or someone trys a handle or breaks a window the sirens sound for ten seconds and i instantly get a text telling me position and sensor alert

if needed it can be geo fenced and will also send an alert if speeding

in the event i get an alarm text I can diasble all vehicle electrics leaving it dead in the water

in the unlikely event it was stolen i could do a hard stop by instantly cutting all electrics (illegal if moving but who gives a toss) or a soft stop where all cuts when vehicle stops

it will turn on a microphone concealed in the cab

can monitor fuel to alert of syphoning and various other tweaks

runs off a sim card that can either be a top up when empty or I have a £5 a month package for unlimited as I like to text her regularly to check on battery, systems location status etc (sad I know)

only one of several layers and certainly isnt there to replace the disklock, pedal lock, cut outs, alarm and additional security deadlocks on all doors but you can never have too much security... after all the idea is only to make the next one down the road an easier option... no security is perfect but you need to do what you can....

Thank you for that sir, will check it out. As at the moment mine is the easy option steal down the road, other than CCTV coverage

Having read through my partner thinks it's a very good idea to purchase. My problem may be the fitting and set up, how easy was it given I have limited electrical experience (I know positive/negative, have wired in lamps,cb,radio, switches etc) but it is a series 2 and without all the technical gadgetry of other land-rovers.
