Right thats it I've had enough!! I've had this Disco2 for 2 1/2 years now and its doing me head in, so far its had to have..........
a fog light
a headlight
2x fuel presure regulators
a steering box
a fuel pump
a fuel filter
a set of injector seals
a driver side window regulator
a new electric mirror ecu
2x rear air springs
the sat nav has packed up
and now the steering box is ****ing leaking AGAIN!!!
Not to mention it needs new tyres as well :eek:

I can't take any more of this money pit so its gonna get traded in on something reliable like a Shogun or a Toyota something, unless any of you lot on here can give me a bloody good reason to stay in the Landrover club! Good Luck!!

man up and put up wiv it,you think summit else wont give you any problems?

so youve fixed all the small problems now you want to throw in the towel..
remember landrovers are nuts n bolts

you will wish you still had a landy when the shogun decides to rip the bottom crank pulley off and the steering link drops off. and as for toyota head gaskets a plenty (on the surf anyway) constant problems with over fuelling and tick over 3 million sensors to do the job of one on any other motor horrendous parts costs and a japanese thirst that makes the disco look economical. bear with it mate or try a different landy maybe you got a friday afternoon car ie:"right lads the weekends almost here just slap it together" these cars do exist especially within the rover and vauxhall family.

Our Toyota had £15000 worth of warranty work done before we decided to call it a day and get rid while it was still in warranty!!

It's back up For sale again, it's had at least a flywheel since (2007 car)

nothing else will make you smile as much as a landy will when its right however breif that occasion may be ,you cant put a price on that mate. my old 90 is constant greif but every time i take her out i feel like im 7 years old driving the coolest thing in the world.priceless!

I was gonna but a terrano last month cos I didn't want to throw £1000 away on a rotbox that would need even more money spending on it. So I found a very nice 97, 7seat, diesel terrano. for £1100 spotless car no rust and low mileage. Bid on it won it and contacted the seller to arrange to pick it up. and was informed by him that it had a small fault?? you had to lert it tick over for 5 minute or so before it would rev up and drive off?? foned a friend whos had a few mavericks/terranos (same car) and he reckoned MAF sensor A snip at £400 to replace. So I foned the seller back told the likely cause and suggested he either knock £400 off the price or got it sorted before I collected it. He foned back next day to say he was scrapping it as it would cost too much to repair :D I ended up with a £775 rotbox disco that needs more money spending on it  But at least I know I can repair it cheaply enough if it fooks up.

Out of interest the Steering Box and Fuel Pressure Regulator that have failed twice who have the been manufactured by?
.........................................did they come in a blue box :D

No, both were done under warranty within 6 months at Lookers main dealer at Colchester!!
Bluehaze and Whiskeydog, I think you could be right, but my disco is a 2002 and would prob only get about £5-6000 at trade in, and to get a fender of the same year i'm gonna need alot more than that!!

A fuel filter? Are you serious? I mean, I would have just scrapped the thing if it ever came to that for me.:doh:

Thats a normal landrover maintenence list isnt it?

Ive had my 90 6 weeks. Since then ive had a headlight blow, stripped down and rebuilt the whole front axle, have the steering box seals+drop arm+steering damper to fit and a list the length of my arm to get sorted inc. various oil leaks, seized rear caliper, de-egr, UJs.

All planned maintenence, its part of the fun isnt it?
