No, that's not a problem. We're going to stop for a break after every 9 miles of driving - cup of tea, running repairs - and off we go again. You're going on a holiday more than 10 miles from home... Apart from the bits you mentioned, which will cover minor setbacks, suggest you tow a spare vehicle that will get you the rest of the way lol!!
Aye, to be fair, all that silicone grease and the oil and antifreeze from lying under it every 9 miles, should keep the bigs off.Not sure we'll have room after packing the P38 spares. I have changed the pollen filters, and I can smear myself with silicone grease.
Got me flip flops, shorts and sun block.....that was the easy bit. Off to Italy (Lake Garda) in a few days. The reason I'm asking what to take is that we're driving there in the 21 year old P38 4.6. Now, I don't need to take a spare engine as this one's only done 176,000 miles, so only just run in. Obviously I've wiped the outside of the oil filter with a damp cloth, spat in the coolant tank, and given the spark plugs a quick smack with a hammer - so fully serviced. Here's what I've packed so far;
Spare battery
Full set of coolant/heater hoses
Serpentine belt
Thermostat
Belt tensioner
Eas pump
Spare Eas valve block
Eas pipe and joiners
Emergency Eas push on valves
Lap top with Eas software
Duck tape
Tool kit
Socket set
2 bottles of K seal
Lucky heather
Now. Have I forgotten anything? Advice from other cross Europe adventurers appreciated.
and if you need glasses for driving, a spare pair.Don`t forget the legal kit you have to carry , high viz for every person, triangle, bulbs and so on and the phone to go on LZIR
Zika virus is the current panic.Serious about insect repellent though. We're blood donors and the nurses get very twitchy when we declare we've been to Italy. Western Isle virus, you get it off those big, f@ck off, winged alligators
To be fair, the compressor stays in the car at ALL times - not just holidays.12 volt compressor for use with the push on valves.
Tow strap.
Tirfor winch and accessories.
Plusgas, WD40 and aeroclean.
Paracord.
10" Bowie knife (10cm is as much as is useful and anything more is Muppet territory but it won't look impressive enough for the adventure holiday snaps).
Tyre compressor.
Plenty to read while waiting for the recovery truck, maybe your fishing gear too.
Quicksteel.
Water.
V8? Best stick a drum of oil in. Oh, and a spare set of HG.
Wet wipes.
Sorefinger did you say? Don't forget the plasters!!I think a tub of swarfega might be better than wet wipes.

Tow a diesel version behind....Yours is the oil burner. Or was until it hit that boar.
Maybe if he towed a spare P38 behind him? And that had a trailer carrying another spare .. and that ...
