hi everyone , new to this so bear with me,
range rover 2.5 bmw engine wouldnt start in all cold weather over xmas,
took it to someone and had , ready for it
new battery, new glow plugs, new glow plug relay, new starter motor,
still no joy.
several people tried jump starting , some times 10-15 mins a go,
later realized this destroyed the head,so,
head reskim,new valves,new valve guides,complete rebuild,new head gasket.
from this i was told that timing chain had stretched throwing all firing and deisel pump out of whack, resulting in poor or no starting when turning over,
after new timing chain , other belts and new tensioner ,
starts first turn of the key and sounds like a new engine, brilliant!
BUT, now its over heating.
mechanic tells me a ceramic disc that comes from the water pump has shattered and is going round the cooling system occasionally blocking, could this happen or is he taking the **** , as i think he has for the last 3 months and £1500,
any help much appreciated, cheers
