Hi All,

I'm going to some vinyl over my dash top (series 3), to hide all of the holes and broken bits.

But I'm unsure of which glue to use.

I've previously used a spray carpet contact adhesive (on an old Mini) which worked well until it got hot in the summer and then the glue melted and it all fell off!

Time bond seems to be good, but you've only got one chance to get it right.

Can anybody recommend anything, and other tips for re-covering gratefully received!

Cheers,

Bern.

I glued my dash vinyl back down with evostick contact adhesive. 5 years later it’s still all good

Its hard to beat trimfix high temp glue. The bigger problem you will have is the marks showing through the new vinyl.

I watched a Youtube video where they filled any holes and marks with body filler before putting the vinyl on, I'll give that a go!

I've ordered some Trimfix, thanks for the replies.

I used the trimfix high temp stuff and also filled the holes with body filler/ fibre glass I also used a hair dryer to heat the vinyl from the back so it made it flexible to cover around the shape of the dash

That looks really good, if I can get that sort of finish I'll be happy!

How did the indents for the screws look once it was fitted? I did think about putting some cup washers on there to make it look a little neater.

They looked good I ordered new dash screws and fitted with the washers looked good clean and tidy when I’m back on it I’ll try and take some pics of it fitted
