I don't no if problem is related I had FIP n glow plugs changed recently all was fine until I got a problem with a lazy starter motor I changed it and now glow plug light on dash won't come on an car won't start. I've changed the relay connected to ECU need help plz

What relay have you changed, the glow timer relay? Glow lamps are put on by engine ECU subject to ECU temp sensor readings, you may have disturb or broken temp sensor when you did starter motor? Green sensor on left side of head.

No joy with sensor looks in tact and still plugged in. I was just gonna change it with one from my parts car but thats a different colour so other a new one I'm stuck

The glow plugs work when the ECM temp sensor signals the ECM that the engine is below a certain temp. Time glow plugs are lit varies with temp, this timing is subject to control by the ECM NOT the timer relay. The glow indication lamp is switched on by the ECM NOT the glow timer relay. Diagnostics may tell you where the problem is.

There is a large blade fuse for the glow-plugs inside the engine ECU compartment. Is that one OK?

Just looked in ECU compartment and didn't see a large blade fuse forgive my ignorance do I need to pull ECU out. Guys just come to plug it in and his machine won't communicate so there coming to trailer it to garage after dinnner. Oh the joys of owning a p38

Large blade fuse is inside the timer relay bolted to the side of the engine ECU. You could try some contact cleaner on the ECU connector. But DO NOT remove connector or replace it with battery connected.

Just checked large blade fuse its not blown and cleaned connection still no joy. So looks like I'll av to cross fingers and toes and wait to see what garage does

Just been told cars bin plugged into 5 different machines including the rep from Delphi and his brand new machine and software but car won't communicate with any of them so am at a loss
