Hi all,
Got fed up looking at the half inch gap on my glove box, being a fussy git and like things to look right I thought I would have a look at adjusting the said gap. On the bottom hinges there are 2 Allen key grub screws which I loosened right off then took a look at the top two catches, if you get on your knees and look up at the catches in the glove box frame their are two small recesses just by the side of the catches which house a small Philips screw, what I did was to start tightening each screw half a turn at a time and low and behold the gap got smaller and smaller, I assume by tightening the screws, pulled the catches in to reduce the gap. I kept tightening until I was happy with the gap and then retightend the 2 grub screws. I now have a nice tight fit with a gap of around 2/3 mm, looks so much better and only took around 30 mins to do. Hope this helps any one else with OCD like I have. Lol

OCD and a P38 !!!

This could be fun
:D

Nice one, I will now adjust mine.
Take no notice of them pair, the only things they ever adjust are their wigs

No worries, love the banter that this forum produces.
Just a bit of a perfectionist, mind you, her indoors don't mind.

I really wish all I had to worry about with my P38 was the glove box................Oh hang on that's broke as well

Hi,
Think it may be adjustable from one side to the other, if the the lid is catching your pass side door may be worth looking at the hinges, may have worked them selves loose, a simple tighten up May cure that, there is a Philips screw and a 7 mm bolt holding in each hinge.

Will do one day! As doz says ive got bigger problems to worry about like finding a replacment drag link before monday which is when the mot runs out

Hey anythings possible with a p38 lol
afterall the rumberly wheel bearing I couldn't find turned out to be a track rod joint! go figure

If you can confuse a worn TRE with a wheel bearing rumble think you had better stick to Scalextric repairs. :D:D:D

Glovebox adjusted with a nice even 3mm gap all they way along.
Thanks PPP38vouge, it's been bugging me for ages ;)

Awesome. thought to have a look as my glovebox was gaping, now the perfect fit, sometimes it's the little things, thanks for the tip:)
