Your lamp is being back fed or your switch on the gearbox is gunged up, do you have a multimeter?

I have reversed into a few things in Landrovers even in daylight. The rear vision is terrible, blind spots big enough to hide a tree, let alone something low down.
Yes, that will work if the leakage current is significantly less than around 10mA. You could try measuring the amount of current that flowing in the "ghost" mode. (N.B. when using a multimeter on mA it's easy to blow it up, so careful not to put it across the 12V and ground setting it back on a V range or you can probably buy a new meter.)Common fault with some LED bulbs with no ballast
