Ok guys I had a quick investigation of my melted loom today and it appears only 2 or 3 wires are done for.
I am trying to find out what these wires are but can't get to them.
Under the engine bay 2 wires are melted, the really bad one is not connected to anything under the bay and then goes out of sight behind the plastic shield thing in the centre of the bulkhead.
I have taken the top dash rail out and also poked my head behind the clocks.
There is a melted wire there that seems to go to one of the big relays there and it has melted the white plastic at the rear of the back window de mister.

Anyway, how do I get to the loom
I can't seem to move the lower dash after taking screws out. Am I missing something or is there an order?

I have taken top rail off, 2 sides off and radio housing out, does the grey plastic bit where vents are need to come out?
Does the steering cowling need to come off?
Just really struggling to move the lower dash and want to easiest way possible to get to the loom.
Cheers

have you taken the shelf out from the top of the lower dash? The loom should be visible under that, and there are two bolts holding the lower dash in place there too.

I put some pictures on Photobucket for someone else doing a similar thing.
Here's the link DASH PICTURES
They may be of some use to you.
As Lofty69 said, you can access the loom by taking the tray out of the bottom of the lower dash.
