Dear All.

With the need to put food on the table (any excuse) our 2002 HSE will be getting in the mud most weekends. Not monster mud by many peoples standard but crossing ploughed fields and traversing some fairly steep hills will be the limit. Can any one recommend a tyre/wheels setup that will:

a. get me down the road in comfort with out making the car so noisey that my ears bleed.

b. will get me over what ever I happen across be it long wet grass, mud, streams, and more mud.

c. Will fill the arches a little more.

many thanks

What size wheels?

General Grabber AT2s work well on 18 inch rims. Very well behaved and quiet on road and quite capable off road (well I haven't got stuck yet!)...

Just my opinion of course...

Thanks Guy.
What tire sizes do you use on your 18 inch rims?

Thanks for the help, I actually have General Grabbers on my 22 inch rims which work well but are the road biased version and C+@p in the mud.

Many thanks.

I thought of that but the size and choice of wheel and tire sizes is baffling. What size are people using? Width, profile etc. many thanks.

255/55.

Blimey - I didn't realise 22 inch would fit the p38!

i saw an ad in l/r world for rimmer bros last month with a special on 20" stormer alloys with tyres for £800 +/- and this was with an option for an adaptor for the p38 and if you can get a 20" then a 22" should be available
,but why such a low profile for such a heavy beast?
cheers
