Trying to get this thing rubbed down ready to paint, going to Hand Paint, brush / roller.
Anyway problem is I have no electric, just generator when it works, and hand tools,
Not done this before so dont know how far I have to go before I start priming, took me all weekend to almost get both wings done, using one of these wheels on cordless grinder, https://www.screwfix.com/p/non-woven-preparation-wheel-115mm/606jj it does the job but lost count of how many batteries I have gone through. Not looking for a shiny show room finish, somthing like my bulkhead which I have already painted will do.
Do I have to get every bit back to bare metal before I prime it ? or will what it is like in pics do, it is quite smooth and like I said does not have to look like a super car paint job, its only a Land rover

You've went to town on it aint ya, was the paint that bad?? ive used loads of tractor enamel paint
on machines ect I usually just prime the bare metal & take the shine off the good paint then crack on
with the roller. Touch dry in an hour or less. :)

Must have been at least 4 coats on the wings 2 greens a black and sand color from MOD presumably , the rear tub is worse,

You will not actually know how how far you need to go until you have applied the first coat of primer. At that point you will see where you need more sanding and where is adaptable. Anywhere that is visible in primer will not get hidden with topcoat.

Yup I used a good quality varnish brush. I get my paint from paintman paints now. My mate
bought ebay paint & it was crap. He bought it cheap but as long as they have good feed back
it should be all good. :)
Used there paint on bulckhead and inside cab it is good stuff, ngot some decent rollers need to find a Good brush, will have a look in Toolstation they might have something decent.

Hoping to get it ready for first coat of primer for weekend. The doors are quite smooth, whats best to do with them should I do the same as I have done with wings or just give them a good sanding by hand ??
Funny but one passenger side on rear tub was just as bad as wings 3 to 4 coats of paint very rough and thick, but drivers side looks like only one, maybe two but it is very smooth like doors.

If its nice n smooth id take the shine off it with 400 paper, I think you will need to use a high build
primer on the panels down to bare metal.
When I paint boats by hand, I find I get a nicer finish by rolling it on then go over it with the brush
to take the bubbles out. Takes a bit of practice but you dont get a dimpled finish off the roller. :)

Keep the pics coming, (cant wait to see it done)
Ive got mine to paint its covered in a matt black paint tis horrible.
New doors & drop down tail gate I fitted a canvas & it has a tubular front end so not much to paint.
I still have the hard top so id be daft not to paint that too.

Will do Mate, dont laugh though if it looks like something thats just drove through a wooded area :D
Might try these , do you think they will be ok or should I get something better ? Prodec Advance Mini Roller Sleeves 4" Flocked Foam | Toolstation just need to find a couple of decent brushes now.
Mine is a 109 pickup , I do have an excellent back body and roof, but like the look of the pickup, less to bloody rub down and paint too.

Had a go at the doors tonight, didnt make much difference though, even used a heavier grit, then back over again with the 400, they are very smooth but should I get more off or prime as they are ?
These bits on cab corners whats best to do them ? they feel like wood, dont think they are metal
Got an email from smith and allen and they dont have the etch primer in stock for another month, so need to find some for the weekend otherwise I will get f!!1ck all done. any ides of where I can get some before weekend
