Rear body is series, has no reverse light and the filler cap is in series spot not recessed fully like fender

Roof is series too, those arches are poorly fitted  what a cock end

Says it has a 88" chassis so only had a more modern engine and axles ? Or thats what it looked like to me, id still count that as a series

Have you seen where the fuel tank is? nice spacers on the chassis though!

looks silly imho, if i was driving round in that i would think everyone was laughing at me.

that shouldn't be allowed to keep its tax exempt status.

the eejit

why move it there

Why not move it there? Most triallers I've seen have had the fuel tank re-located to sit above the chassis rails so it doesn't get punctured.

Does look a bit odd with the filler cap still on the side but I'd rather they left it like that than try to blank it off like some of the abortions I've seen!

I like it quite a lot but it needs its series face back then it would be great the style of a series with the usability of a coiler tdi, I know its not a rivet counters dream but im a realist modder to the end

Its not hard to make a fuel tank guard on a series though

It might be an 88" chassis but it's not a series 88" chassis - it's on coils! He's changed the chassis for a modified one, the engine, gearbox, axles and brakes. That's why it should be on a Q plate and not tax exempt.

wasn't the chassis done before sva came in (1998) so its ok?

if what he says about the chassis being done in 1996 is true of course

was a common mod for a while I beleive, certianly plenty of reccomendations to convert to coils and kits etc in some old LRO mags ive been reading recently

yep so common that designa chassis used to sell galvanised 88 inch coil sprung with optional leaf brackets on

Thats a RR or D1 chassis from the shape of it and a latter one too as it has the skinny rear trailing arms. Also who ever did it didn't shorten the front of the chassis as to front overhang is longer than a series and the body is further forward as you can see from the rear of the front wheel arch over the tire.
Can't remember when those skinny arms came out but prob about the time he says that was built so did he use a new disco chassis and running gear ?
