Im thinking of selling the spare set of 18 hurricanes i have with tyres-i have 2 sets, and getting a set of 16" wheels and getting some grabbers, just looking around now but what size 16 grabbers would i need for a p38 ?

also anyone out there with some p38 fitment 16" wheels interested in a trade for 18" hurricanes let me know, im in portsmouth

Hi polsta.
This time last year I got rid of my 18" hurricanes and changed to 16" Typhoons fitted with new 255/65 x 16 General Grabber A/T's.
Brilliant tyres, no more tram lining, no noticeable noise on tarmac, good grip, and good off road in the ****ty stuff.
255/65 x 16 is the standard fitment on 16" rims.

thats what i want to do, i have 2 sets, so want to keep this for a summer set, sell the others and get some 16s for winter with AT tyres, not overly fussed what wheels, thiking some steel modulars may be cool, and general grabbers or even cooper AT tyres

I absolutely cannot fault the GG ATs on my P38 (standard 16") the best "all-rounder" tyre I have ever used. Surprisingly good on mud (a difficult surface) and brilliant in the snow. The ABS seems to kick in less on the road (wet or dry) than with the old (more road biased) Pirelli Scorpions.

I had the older GG ATs (AT2?) on my classic, these are better.

had scorpions on it for a year, i like them, did well and had no issues

but just want some decent winter AT tyres on 16"s , really want to try grabbers out, once i get wheels- then il work out what to do, weather bite the bullet for new grabbers, or what im looking out for is a set or similar with 16" wheels

I've got 16" 255/65 GG AT's, the standard size. I think the pattern on the new ones has changed now. Mine are the older ones about 18 months old.
Great off road and in mud. Little bit noisier on road and steering not quite as precise as Pirelli Scorpions. Overall a great tyre.
