Hi folks. i have a p38 4.6 hse 1999. I have a problem with my gearbox. Sometime when is stoped in hill and move dhe gear selector to any position R,D,3,2,1 the car dose not move. No error or message on dashboard. I have to push the acelerator and wait untill he get a gear (R or D) and then he drive.... Is very strange. There is no error on the diagnostic... I got my engine and transmision from my old rangie that was a GEMS, and this is a Bosch system engine... I have to get the old transmision ECU and put on this rangie??? Or is another problem???

No oil level is ok. First things that i have checked
But did you check with the car on the level, engine cold and idling, gear lever moved slowly through all positions and back to P or N.
ECU does not affect initial engagement, the forward or reverse primary clutches are selected manually.

yes. to all position in idling and with a cold engine.... could be the filter??? But i see eve something strange that never do before with old rangie.. shifting from N to D or R or other position is a bit slow... i feel the gear is engaged a bit late when i let the break pedal....

When was the oil and filter last changed?

i have never changed but before that i move from old rangie to a new rangie come this problem. Never before...

Oil and filter should be changed every 24K miles. Maybe you damaged the oil pump drive when you swapped the box over?

No the mechanic say that is all ok.... even the pump. I have swapped all the block.. I mean i dont separate the gearbbox from engine... after i put at the new rangie the mechanic open that only for flywheel change for the sensor...

If the flywheel was changed, the gearbox must have been seperated from the engine. If the torque convertor is not held in place, the drive lugs for the pump can break.

Could be you need to wait for box/ecu to adapt if you haven't used diagnostics to reset.
Or as others have said...

HI.. can be a valvule block of the transimtions from the oil??? can be cleaned and reused this valvule block???

Was the oil pump of tranny that was not good... was scratched inside and dose not create the presure at right time...
