Definitely get a grease gun and get pumping but it does sound like the main problem is the handbrake binding.

As said backing off the small square adjuster is the first port of call.

If that doesn't help then you'll need to drop the prop and pull the drum off to see what holding the shoes apart.

Oh and the lever is to operate the pto that's fitted (worth a bob or two if you don't want it)

That handbrake drum has been very hot. Sometimes folks make the mistake of adjusting the linkage to the brake leaver instead of square adjuster at the back of the drum and this can result in sticking.
You can download manual on this site. No need to drop prop it will slide down prop, however if you can't turn drum some then it's locked on and you will need to release brake by backing off adjuster and or disconnect linkage. Cheers

Hollys loving Dotty more and more. She says its part of Dot and going nowhere, that told me then. Thanks for the explanation. We are going to fix this jamming problem then start cleaning her her up a bit when the weather gives us a break.

Ok we have done the above, taken it for a drive and the break drum is still getting very hot ( about 3 miles) any ideas?

Best pull the drum off then, it's probably all clogged up. You might need to disconnect the linkage from the handbrake lever if it's tight.

As someone said download the PDF s3 manual its on here somewhere, then you can look at how things work before you start work, also you can browse it in comfort rather that watch tv. Sure someone will post a link.

This shows the set up quite well, it's held on by the prop nuts

Look at the pic of the whole series unit and you can see six nuts on the drum around the UJ that hold the drum on,unlike 90/110 where two screws and four nuts on prop yolk hold drum on.

Or at least act in a supervisory manner :)

There is but he's away and Holly needed the car. He sent a message from his jollys and says if we don't succeed he'll take a look when he gets back. Thanks everyone :)
