Hi Guys

I have a 1996 200 tdi defender, manual gearbox.

Thing is, when changing from 1st to second, especially when not being gentle, the gearbox makes a horrible scraping sound. Doesnt really seem to cause any problems for the car, only the bickering from her indoors ( its her car).

Can anybody tell me what it might be and if there is an inexpensive quick fix?

Try an oil change first. Remember this box takes ATF. Look on difflock.com for EVO oils, they are worth the extra money.
