thanks for last post i will take a look, but while we are on the subject i have just remembered when i select reverse i have noticed the reverse lights only stay on if i hold the gear stick in reverse with some pressure.

any idea how to solve this?????

Sounds like a switch adjustment is needed. Download RAVE and you will be able to find the details of the switching.

The reverse switch can be adjusted. Place box in reverse, undo stop nut on switch and screw it in until reverse lights come on. Snug nut up, straighten cable if required.

if yer in Preston theres nowt like havin yer nuts Snugged up..:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Did me a POWER of good did that .... I can wear me boxers with pride now!!!

Gents, what is this RAVE?

It a "Party" we all go to once a week!!!.. every week one of us buys an old P38 & we sacrficially burn it in a field .....Whilst dancing round the embers dressed in long flowing Land Rover robes, we chant incantations to the great god "Solihull" & his right hand man "Building 38"

This we believe keeps our P38's safe from breakdowns for the coming week!!!

Then Again it could be the Workshop manual for Range Rovers ..... WHO KNOWS???
