Hey,

I went off-roading last weekend, and few days later i noticed that my gearbox was making a strange noise...

It runs and sounds normal in 1st and 2nd but soon as i go into 3rd, 4th and 5th from 25mph its makes a loud vibrating humming noise.

Could this be a lack of oil in the gearbox or is the Gbox broke??? I am not sure :confused:

any suggestions an answer apprtiated

Check the easy stuff first, like your prop u/j's, wheel nuts, wheel brgs etc before ya start worryin bout fooked boxes.

Had the same happen to me a while ago n it turned out to be the u/js couldnt go over 65 cos i thought the transmission was gonna fall out.....
 
bloody beavers, get everywhere :D

id say prop UJ's, almost certainly.

Check them all for play, with the hand brake off. SHouldn't be any.
 
erm.... no...

have been busy - if i get some time over easter its on the cards, while im landy less due to a respray.

Ill be taking lotsa piccied though so its well worth the wait :D
