Hi
Have a small gearbox issue range rover classic 1988 3.5 EFI auto, it's been under restoration for a while , started it weekend and went through the gears to flow the oil around whilst stationary, when I tried to go from reverse to park I had this noise which I initially thought was an electrical short sounded like a wire touching bare metal when I switched off and put it in park noise gone,, got the missus to repeat the operation whilst I listened at floor level and I believe its sounds like the park mechanisms are grinding before going in to place bit like trying to get a manual car in gear without using the clutch.
Anyone know if there is some kind of adjustment for this? It was fine before I took it off the road..

if you hear park brake grating it means gear box can rotate either transfer box is in neutral or props off etc
