Well. I got my coolant temperature issue looked at last week at the garage (lrr.co.uk) along with a service etc. She's going back next week for some bushes / roll bar / suspension / tracking bits and she was to have her transmission serviced. I got 4 new tyres on her yesterday.
Friday I was stuck in traffic on my way home (at eleven o'clock at night, you've got to love London. and she held onto each gear until about 4k rpm. I had a look on here and I suspect it's that thing it does to preserve the transmission oil temperature by passing as much of it over the rad as possible (at least that's how I read it)
Anywho, I went for a run to deepest darkest Essex yesterday and she was fine although I wasn't stopped for any length of time there or back.
Today I (again) got caught in traffic and she did the same thing. High revs before changing up. No errors on display yet and I've not had the allcomms out but I pulled up and let her cool down for half an hour and she was fine.
I'm going to give the garage a call tomorrow to let them know but I'm guessing that whatever they did to fix the coolant temperature / airlock issue has either crudded up the bottom of the rad or somethingorother so I'm guessing she probably needs a new radiator whilst she's in?
Is that about right? Is there anything I can do in the meantime until she goes in the shop in 10 days or do I just take it easy?
Thanks folks.
