can anyone tell me will a gearbox from a disco 1 fit a disco 2 td5 as i have been offered a recon box

hi james could you tell me what the diferances are between the 2 are please as i understand they are both 380 boxes

longer input shaft ,and bell housing as well as different shape of bell housing and you cant swap input shaft

thats a bugger thanks for the reply who would you recomend as to supply a recon or new box please also would you recomend changing the duelmas to a solid flywheel when i do the gear box change what are the pros and cons
sorry for all the questions

no worries , id put dual mass on ,not solid it protects the transmission there isnt enough damping in a solid flywheel and sprung clutch plate ,id get one from a firm that rebuild their own theres plenty about
