Not something I would use in a ZF box. Lucas Transmission Fix is the best stuff IMO.I've been reading some excellent reports and a gearbox additive called "Liqui Molly" Has anyone in the forum tried this product or an alternative. If so did you notice any improvements?
Changing the oil a few times does not in my experience unstick sticky valves whereas LTF does, at least it did on mine.Although Lucas tranny fix is recommended I would suggest adding nothing is a viable alternative! Change the oil on it's own a few times even.
Thank you for the replies. It's a very debatable subject. I did have the oil changed but still seem to be experiencing a problem. I'm going to research it some more and If I do decide to go ahead I will update with the results.
wammers - thank you for the reply. Auto box. Do you know something about this product? I was hoping for information not the source of your amusement...
Lucas does not effect an immediate cure, it took a few long runs before the box functioned normally.Thank you for the replies. It's a very debatable subject. That could actually be an electrical problem, have you had it on diagnostics?Yes the oil and filter were changed last year, I was told that the oil looked ok and was not burnt. The problem I have is driving above 60 mph the box seems to refuse to stay in 3rd or 4th, keeps jumping up and down, this also happens any speed above 60mph. Not very good when your doing 70 on the M1. For some reason in forth I also find the engine very sluggish and it refuses to rev.

At 60, it should not be in third, it should be in 4th with the torque convertor locked unless you are going up hill whne it will down shift. Torque convertor lock up occurs at 50mph, you may be confusing the torque convertor locking and unlocking for a shift between 3rd & 4th.
