Hi

Working though the jobs on the series 3 and do 1 find 3 more. I need a bit of help with the 4x4 selector, I push the yellow lever down and it just keep popping back up. What is wrong??? Is it worth swapping the gearbox etc??? And is a Gearbox change possible on a drive????? What sort of a job is it???

4x4 lever will only work in high range, make sure the actuator has nothing stopping it from going down like lots of ****e around it on the transfer box, if not take off the selector unit and clean it all up

gearbox swap can be done on the drive, its an internal bodywork off job though

at the front end of g/box output housing are 3 shafts poking out 2 hidden by a tin cover check all 3 move whilst move red lever

Tried the 4x4 with the hi/low in both positions. I've removed the spring and it is very easy to push down. How do I check if it's going into 4 wheel drive???

jack one front wheel up if it turns your not in 4x4, yellow knob will only stay doen if hi/lo lever is forward and center shaft is located right hence checking shafts move
