Hi people, Just a quick question on my gearbox. Whilst it’s semi dismantled I’m freeing up all the levers of years of crud and rust. I’ve taken the gear shift lever housing apart and noticed I don’t have the grub screw that goes through the housing to engage with the slot on the ball. I’ve not driven the vehicle since I bought it (it’s now in mid full rebuild) so don’t know if it’s something I need to replace? Also is it worth a little cv grease in the hall housing? Thanks.

The grub screw helps to eliminate some of the play but it shouldn't be tightened too much. A bit of grease is ok if the housing is dry.
