hi there can any one help me please just bought a Land Rover Freelander Station Wagon (98-03)
2.0 Td4 Kalahari 5d....
the gear stick is really wobbley and when its in any gear it runs fine but it feels like the gear stick is still in neutral when moved side to side ????? the gears just dnt seem very tight .....
also its very slow on acceleration when pulling off turbo seems to kick in at around 3 to 4 thounds revs is this normal....hope anyone can help ...
thanks.....:) p.s what should the turbo on the td4 be kicking in at...would a service help the performance???

You will get used to the wobbly gear stick,I rarely go over 3.5k revs,so 3-4 sounds high I dont usually watch revs when changing up.
Relax get to know the motor. If in doubt give it a full service and invest in a haynes manual.

Replace the gear linkage selector, easy job, about £35 for the part, did mine a few years ago and feel like a new gear box still.
turbo should kick in at about 2000 revs I think,
give it a good service and change all the filters.
