Hi everyone

Newbie to this site, myself and my son have just bought a couple of 90 pick ups, problem is my sons has now developed a gear selection hick up?, when stationary engine running he cannot select any gears, but if he switches the engine off selects a gear releases the clutch it drives, but can then not change gear, this are our first venture into landys he is a bit gutted past his test October 2010 saved hard now cant drive, can anyone shed light on this issue.

Thanks

hi mate just joined tday can only give u my own experiance of exact same problems sounds like ure clutch is on the way out sorry and remember u can do this change over urself if ure confident enough and have the space and time its heavy goin but a managed it myself good luck a hope am wrong T

Like they said. Did it get worse gradually? I presume I used to work?

Happened to me. Clutch fluid leak. Not a major problem even if garage has to do it. (Presuming of course your not going near the stealers!)

check your fluid and top up if necessary,

does it work if the pedal is pumped?

could be your clutch slave cylinder, master cylinder or both but not to expensive and not too hard to do.

Bleed the clutch - if it doesn't work change the slave and master cylinder - relatively cheap and easy to do. If that doesn't fix it it's going to get time consuming, although clutch bits aren't too dear.

Just went as he pulled away from work have got sunday off to investigate pedal feels ok perhaps he's pushing the wrong pedal ha ha thanks for your reply
