everything, i dont get it because its done 500 miles since i bought it with not a niggle
ok will try that tomorrow, thanks for the help, very grateful, guess i'll have to sleep on it and tinker tomorrowreally sounds like you aint got the gearbox engaged.A decent shove as suggested may be the answer
so, your saying that for normal road driving the hi/low ratios should be in high ratio with diff lock off or on?I've had this happen to me back when I was first getting to grips with defenders (still am a bit now! LOL).
What Scott said about the revs sometimes being right is what I did to fix the elusive 'select high ratio' more than once.

how is the front diff lock engaged, i'm guessing its a solinoid or something electrical like that?have some one lie at the side of the landy looking at the props whilst you try to engage drive, if one prop turns but doesn't move the landy you have issues in the diff, half shafts or drive flanges or cv joints. most of the time it pops out of high and just needs firmly re-engaging.
(look at all the help you get when yer not an angry, angsty teen)
:doh:thanks for answering the have you read the manual question with that reply
