hi i have a td5 auto 01 plate .how do you get the old gear lever off and put a new one on .thanks.

there/ is no gaiter its an auto ?

sorry only saw the words gear stick ,selector knob pulls off selector housing is screwed to plate under consol

sorry to be a pest it is just the knob i am changing do you mean just pull it up with brute force ?
