Hello there,

I've just bought a 1987 Ex Mod 110 2.5 N/A diesel.

There is a switch and an LED on the gear knob, and I have no idea what it's for.

When you switch the ignition key to it's 1st position (run), the LED flashes a few times then goes off.

If you operate the switch it flashes a few time then stays on solid.

Any info would be great.

Cheers

Ahh - I can explain this one - at last, something I actually know.

The switch and LED are there to give you something to ask about on forums.

Seemples.

being an N/a unlukley to be overdrive however it could well be. I will be adding a gear knob switch for my fuel saver as soon as I get through its MOT

If its an overdrive and working ok I could be persuaded to buy it from you as I need a higher gear than 5th cos 45MPH flat out Sucks especially as I have enough oomph to get a decent speed. Unlike my old 2.5 N/a

I didn't think 5 speed boxes had overdrive. Would this be something the MoD would have added? I don't know. I'll give a spin today and see if it makes a difference at high speed.

Thanks for the comments

just lift up the middle seat and look through the inspection pannel for a big box hanging off the back of the t/box

sounds like gkn overdrive look at back of t/box ,cant get them any more ,if it is definateley worth a few quid can be fitted to any lt230 t/box

If its a GKN and it works that'll be amazing because the ECU's go wrong alot! It'll be worth a few quid however only if proven to be working.
